Guidelines for DBME Classroom Practices

  • The Domain Approach to Values Education- Using Academic Curriculum for Moral Development: The Basics  From Nice is Not Enough by Larry Nucci, 2008                                   Guidelines and examples are presented for how to use issues and course assignments within the regular academic curriculum to develop students' concepts of morality, societal convention and the personal.  Basic principles and examples are provided to illustrate how to identify the moral, conventional and personal issues present in course readings and assignments. Direction is provided for how teachers can structure classroom discourse and stimulate student thinking about issues in each domain.
